When creating a SCAIL account at https://www.scailapp.com/signup, users can optionally opt in to account text notifications on the contact-details step.

Optional. Only for account notices, and only if you opt in.

Consent is optional and not required to sign up. Someone who leaves the box unchecked, or gives no mobile number, creates their account the same way and receives no text messages from SCAIL.
